From Burnout to Balance: How Accountability Coaching Helped Shane Simplify, Refocus, and Finally Get It Done
He used to ignore his to-do list. Now he travels for six weeks at a time
This is Shane’s Story
Before coaching, Shane had mastered the art of doing everything—except the things that actually mattered to him.
"I would people please and get everything done but leave myself behind."
Sound familiar? Personal to-do lists, important company tasks, and long-overdue goals were constantly pushed aside for more "urgent" demands. He was constantly stressed, overwhelmed, and haunted by that growing voice whispering: *"You still haven't done it."
"It made things harder and created that ever-growing voice in the back of my mind as things needed to be done."
Shane had tried managing it all on his own for years. Sometimes he'd catch a wave of momentum that lasted a month or even a year, but eventually, everything would slip again whenever work got busy.
"Every time I got busy with work I would let everything slip away again. Having someone in your corner you don't want to let down helps you just get it done so it's done."
After completing a successful 8-week fitness challenge, Shane realized he was ready to apply that same structure and accountability to other areas of his life. That's when he found coaching.
"I was keen to pursue other things in this direction as it really worked for me."
And from the beginning? Wins started stacking.
"I was getting some tasks off my list that had been there for over a year!!"
Week by week, Shane's personal and professional life began to shift. He didn’t suddenly gain more hours in the day. He just got intentional about using them.
"My to-do list or anything that I wanted to get through was slowly getting done on a more regular basis."
Together, we stripped productivity down to what actually worked for him. Not a one-size-fits-all system. Not a hyper-hustle strategy. Just simple adjustments, accountability check-ins, and a space to evolve.
"There is no one size fits all to productivity. Learning what works best and constantly adjusting where needed—it's an evolution."
Now? Shane's life and business are running smoother than ever:
He rarely has more than a dozen tasks to tackle at any time
He proactively knocks things out instead of letting them pile up
He found the balance he had never been able to create before
"Now that I'm more proactive, I have time for more tasks or anything that needs to be done."
And here's the real mic-drop moment:
"Last year I spent 6 weeks overseas travelling as my company is doing well enough for me to do this."
Through it all, the most powerful shift hasn’t just been productivity. It's been self-honesty and ownership.
His advice for anyone on the fence?
"You have to be honest with yourself. If you're going to lie and say you got things done, it won't work. It'll be no different than what you're doing alone. Be honest with yourself and the changes will come easier."
If you've got lingering tasks from two years ago still haunting your to-do list, you're not alone.
"Now everything on my list is new and squared away ASAP, making more time for me to earn more money with the business or do what I like!!"
Simple doesn’t mean easy. But it does mean possible.
Shane’s story proves that when you have support, structure, and space to evolve, your entire life can shift.
And if you’re ready to create that shift?
Let’s talk.
